Well, there ya go…It’s official, the PlayStation 3 is now available for $299. Yes, NOW! Today, Kaz Hirai also announced a new, slimmer form factor 120 GB PS3 which will be available September 1st. That’s pretty much all you need to know, but you can hear the Sony peeps talk it up in this announcement vid from GC and this overview video featuring SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton.
The console war just got a whole lot more interesting…
Cool now MS will drop Xbox Elite to $249.99 or $199.99 so more people can get their hands on the better system!!
Does this still have the fat reducing grill feature?

If it wasn’t for the PS3 exclusives which are pretty damn sweet I wouldn’t even care. I’m just glad that I’ve got some time left before the release of The Last Guardian.
Still, that’s typical for Sony. You’ll never get to buy one of their consoles after a prizecut without feeling outdated at the same time.
