Buy Prototype 2 at Launch, Get “RADNET” Upgrade

As per usual with game releases nowadays, PROTOTYPE 2 will launch with a limited quantity of the “early-buyers’ edition.” This time, it’s the “RADNET Edition,” which will give consumers free access to RADNET, 55 pieces of additional content over seven weeks via a one-time use code.

So, what can you expect?

“This weekly scheduled content will include in-game Events, Challenges, Avatar Items, Dynamic Themes and Behind-the-Scenes videos, as well as bonus Mutations for PROTOTYPE2′s main campaign. Fans that participate in ALL of RADNET’s weekly challenges and events will unlock the ultimate shape-shifting reward…to be revealed in March 2012. PROTOTYPE 2′s ”RADNET Edition” content will only be available for free while supplies last.”

Basically, this is a “yay” for free stuff! Interested?

Modern Warfare 3 Content Season Mapped Out

Morning, everyone! Activision just released a nifty schedule for Modern Warfare 3′s downloadable content season, mapping out specifically what’s to come between now and September. There’s a nice combination of new maps, modes, and missions, which should hopefully keep the game feeling fresh all year long. Be sure to check it out!

Modern Warfare 3′s DLC Season Revealed

Activision today announced the downloadable content season for Modern Warfare 3, and it will span twenty “content drops” across nine months, with new content coming once a month. Five content drops will release between now and March, two of which drop on January 24 for Xbox Live premium Elite members, with the release of the maps “Liberation” and “Piazza.” Both are also playable in “Survival” mode.

Another content drop will release in February, and the last two of the announced five content drops will release in March. Later in March, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 “Content Collection” will bundle the first five drops into one package for anyone on Xbox Live to purchase. Details about the DLC’s release on other platforms will come at a later time.

To celebrate the launch of each new content drop, Activision and Call of Duty Elite will host specialized events for real-world prizes.

In addition to multiplayer maps, Modern Warfare 3′s content season will see additional Spec-Ops missions and game modes released, offering “more variety than ever,” according to Activision CEO of publishing Eric Hirshberg.

Black Ops Zombies now on iOS Devices

It’s that time of year again: no, not the shopping part, the family traveling part! In due time you will be stuck for hours on end in a car, train, plane, or possibly even a boat with your family, and that can be rough. Fortunately, Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies released on the App Store this week, and for $6.99 you can grab yourself “a Zombies experience never experience never before seen on mobile platforms,” which should hopefully make this year’s travelling less painful…and dull.

Black Ops Zombies comes with “Kino der Toten,” the first Zombies level in the console iteration, as well as 50-levels of “Dead Ops Arcade.” Co-operative play can take place with up to three others, and you can even utilize the new voice chat feature.

Activision notes that, as with the prior Zombies iOS game, more content will arrive in the future.

The Amazing Spider-Man Game Poster Spotted at NYCC

IGN spotted a poster at NYCC confirming that Activision will be publishing a movie-tie-in game for next summer’s film reboot The Amazing Spider-Man. No big surprise, developer Beenox, of recent wall-crawling titles such as Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man: Edge of Time, has their logo on the poster, so it would seem they’ve got a lock on Spidey’s immediate video game outings.

Crash Cars to Kill Zombies with Activision's Blood Drive

We all know you were looking forward to an enthralling game about phlebotomists drawing blood and feeding people grape juice, but it turns out Activision’s Blood Drive is actually about “a post-apocalyptic gladiator arena filled with zombies with attitudes and armored war machines.”

Sorry.

Activision released the first details on its latest M-rated zombie car combat title, Blood Drive, hitting stores this November for PS3 and Xbox 360, for $49.99.

As described by the press release:

In Blood Drive, contestants must use their motorized death steeds of steel in a televised game show where drivers battle each other and hordes of revolting flesh eaters in an all-out fight to the death. Face undead frat boys, cops, strippers and bachelorette partiers, each with their own special brand of death and devastation – and ways to die! While these rotting monsters wander the streets of a desert sin city craving sweet, succulent brains, your enemies have come equipped battle hardened armed vehicles, including heavily weaponized muscle cars, hot rods, and more. Amidst this gore-drenched mayhem contestants must use their head or lose it!

Sounds like a mix between Twisted Metal and Dead Rising – which means it sounds awesome. Who else is interested in zombies, strippers and fast cars? Or zombies stripping in fast cars? Or zombies stripping quickly in slowly-moving cars? Whatever you’re in to, share it below!

GH: Warriors of Rock Pre-Order Bonuses Detailed

The Guitar Hero fans amongst you will probably be interested to learn that Activision has revealed the pre-order bonuses for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. In fact, you have two pre-order bonuses to choose from, one for Amazon and one for GameStop.

The Amazon one, shown above right, is a custom made My Chemical Romance guitar strap, complete with the band’s name it seems. However, if that isn’t the pick to your axe so to speak, GameStop is helping your facemelting tool take flight with a sweet set of ‘wings’, seen on the left side.

If you don’t pre-order Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock at all, you will still get the new Soundgarden album, Telephantasm, packed in with the game. Either way, you’re gonna get something.

COD: Black Ops Special Editions Announced

In a continued attempt to give you the loadout necessary to complete an actual covert op, Activision has announced that the Prestige Edition of Call Of Duty: Black Ops will contain a remote control car that comes complete with video surveillance. The car, inspired by the in-game RC-XD, will transmit both full color video and audio back to the hand-held control (there is a small screen on the remote for the video) and will have a range of about 200 feet.

Also included in the Prestige Edition of the game will be all of the components of the Hardened Edition, which are a custom Black Ops limited edition medal w/case, the premium, special-edition SteelBook™ case, exclusive Black Ops Avatar outfit, and four extra playable cooperative maps not in the standard edition.

Although there is no official pricing yet on either edition, Gamestop has the Hardened Edition listed at $79.99 and the Prestige Edition at $149.99. Both will be available on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. With the addition of this RC car to the Night Vision goggles you got with Modern Warfare 2, all you need is for Activision to include a silenced pistol with the next game and you will be ready for your first mission!

Call Of Duty: Black Ops releases on November 9th on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii (Special Editions only on the Xbox and PS3).
