If you thought the Bad Company 2: Ultimate Edition was a steal of a deal at $60, how does $40 sound? Down right insane right?! Well, the frugal folks at Best Buy are slashing the price on the Ultimate Edition down to $39.99, a sweet $20 off. It’s only for this week, however, so make sure you get there ASAP! Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam DLC Detailed

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is keeping things historically accurate with its Vietnam map pack, confusing the public about its true origins while promising everything will turn out all right in the end. But today we have official confirmation Vietnam will launch as DLC only and will include four new multiplayer maps, 15 new weapons and six vehicles.

The DLC will also feature an era-relevant soundtrack and add 10 new achievements and trophies.

BFBC2‘s Vietnam DLC is scheduled to drop this winter for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, if we are to believe The Man.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is out in November and takes place in the same historical setting – do you think its release will affect Vietnam sales? If you’re picking up both titles, don’t you think we owe it to Vietnam to leave them the Hell alone already? Say it in the comments!

Bad Company 2 Gets an All-in-One Edition

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is following the footsteps of many and is releasing an all-in-one version of itself. The only difference here is that this isn’t a ‘Game of the Year’ edition, but rather an ‘Ultimate Edition’ package. First being leaked on internet retailers, EA confirmed to the guys at GamerZines that this edition is real and will ship with the following:

Battlefield 1943
Limited Edition and VIP Unlocks
The recent ‘Onslaught’ DLC Mode

This package will go for $59.99, not a bad deal since the regular version is $39.99. 1943 is a kick ass game as well, so you’re making out with a lot of playtime here.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition is slated to ship August 31, will you be picking it up? Or is it too close of a release to the other shooters coming out this fall? Let your voice be heard below!

Bad Company 2 Onslaughts the PSN Today

PlayStation 3 users will be able to download the new co-operative DLC for Bad Company 2, ‘Onslaught’, once this weeks PSN Store update occurs today. Unfortunately, this DLC has been delayed for the Xbox 360 until further notice (and still no word on a PC release), so stay tuned for details on that.

‘Onslaught’ will run you an even $10. So will you tear it up tonight, co-operatively? Or is there another co-op DLC pack out today that piqued your interest? Hunker down below and tell us!

BFBC2 VIP Map Pack 3 Coming Soon

It really seems like these should be called “Mode Packs” not “Map Packs”, don’t ya’ think? Either way, DICE has announced that the newest DLC for their recent hit, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, will be landing next Tuesday, June 9th, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

This “Map Pack” will bring Squad Deathmatch to the Nelson Bay map and Squad Rush to the Laguna Alta map. Like the previous DLC for this title, if you bought the game new, you get it for free! However, if you bought it used or have rented it, you will have to pay $15/1200 Microsoft Points for the VIP Pass to get it. But if you do purchase the VIP Pass, you get the previous two DLC packs as well, so that’s somethin’.

And don’t you worry PC owners, this pack is coming for you too. DICE has said that it will be made available for all PC players of the game, for free, after the release of the next update. Everyone, PC & console brethren (and sistren) alike, can check out the trailer for the DLC right here!

Explosive BFBC2 Patch Readied For PS3

DICE has announced that when gamers boot up Battlefield: Bad Company 2 tomorrow (June 3rd) on their PlayStation 3′s, a nice little update will be available to download. This patch will fix a slew of problems, including the Garand stat tracking problem, increasing penalty points, and so much more. The update should be up at 08:00 UTC, which translates to 09:00 UK, 10:00 Europe, and 02:00 Pacific time.

Check below for the full list of fixes!

• Kit images added in spawn menu
• Fixed the “required rank” field on the unlock items specified on the W&G page
• Added M14, NS 2000 and G3 in-game unlock pop-up when the requirements for unlocking them are reached
• Added a server side check of the veteran status of the players
• Award bugfix for “Win all 4 game modes” (it had marksman headshot as a dependency)
• Garand did not track anything, Thompson tracked Garand.
• Increased the penalty points for TeamKill and TeamDamage
• Increased the reward points for Objective Actions (Flag Cap/Assist, Arm/Disarm/Destroy/Damage/TeamDestroy/TeamDamage)
• Fixed veteran rank number not showing up in ingame scoreboard
• The southpaw setting now works for the anti-air gun and the Stationary AT
• Collectible weapon messages fixed

BFBC2's Onslaught Continues With Co-Op On Consoles

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been tearing up the charts and quite a few servers on its way to becoming one of the more popular FPS titles on the market today. Well, EA and developer DICE have announced that the carnage will soon continue via the release of new co-op gameplay featured in the upcoming “Onslaught” DLC via both XBL and PSN.

Here’s a description:

Onslaught is bringing co-op gameplay to Battlefield for the first time on console. The new game mode puts you and up to three friends against the enemy on Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay – redesigned with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects. Each map has a dedicated gameplay focus, requiring different levels of teamwork in order to complete the objectives against an onslaught of enemy AI. Vehicle warfare comes to the forefront in Atacama Desert while Nelson Bay focuses squarely on infantry assault. Players can compete in squads and check individual progress via the dedicated Onslaught leaderboards.

The content is slated for a release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and as Shacknews points out, the PC version is uncertain at the moment due to server issues.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Getting Console Patch

The PC received an update for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 a couple of weeks ago and, man, was it nice. But it left console players of the game wondering where theirs was. Well here it is, my friends! The BFBC 2 update for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 will be available next Tuesday, May 11th.

But here’s a nice little surprise for you: Not only will you be getting all the changes that were made on the PC side, but you will be getting some extras. Here is the list of the extra changes the console will be getting (don’t worry PC people, these will show up on the PC too):

The AKs74u now has more felt recoil when aiming
The G3, VSS, and all Semi-Automatic rifles now settle slightly faster between shots when aiming
The PKM, Type 88LMG, G3, An94, and 40mm shotgun have returned to their former glory
Increased the damage of the MG3 to bring it in line with the rest of the LMGs
Fixed a bug where the Saiga12 with slugs would do too much damage at long range
Fixed a bug where the SVU would do too little damage at long range
Fixed a bug where M95 rounds would not kill armored targets with headshots
Slightly increased the damage of the UZI at long range

Put these changes together with the overhead images for tactical planning, and you should be good to go for another 100 hours of fragging fun!!
