Ever wondered who would win in a war between a mega-corporation’s army and a ninja assassin’s robot armada? Thanks to Borderlands, we will finally know.
In the fourth installment of Borderlands DLC, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution is a single and multiplayer experience forcing players to side with Hyperion Corporation, which has historically tried to kill them, to defeat the Claptrap Ninja Assassin and his robot uprising.
As described in the 2K and Gearbox press release:
Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution will provide more than 20 new missions to loot and tons of fresh enemies to blast through, including original boss battles, waves of homicidal Claptraps, well-armed Hyperion soldiers, and local creatures that have been Claptrap-ified – including crab-traps, rakk-traps and skag-trapps. Fans can earn an additional 10 skill points for a total of 71 available skill tree points, and three more backpack slots for additional blood-yielding weapons and many hours of enjoyment.
Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points) this September.
How does a “kung-fu-wielding Ninja Assassin Claptrap with nunchuck skills” sound to you guys? Leave us your thoughts in the comments!

The day has finally come. OnLive has launched and I finally have it to play with. I must say, the service is pretty darn cool, though not very functional – yet. I have always been one of the proponents of OnLive, the cloud gaming service that promises the ability to play games, streamed from their servers, on virtually any computer (and later this year on a console). I think the freedom to carry their proprietary MicroConsole with you when you travel, or to play games on a $500 laptop is pretty enticing. Cross platform game saves (PC to console) and the ability to play the game on both is also pretty enticing, to say the least. But there are drawbacks too. A poor or lost internet connection will mean no gaming at all and, when you do purchase games from the service, you don’t actually own them. But do the benefits outweigh the risks? Let’s take a look.

A bazillion guns not enough for you? Me either. For those of you fans of Borderlands (if your not, you should be) Xbox Live is offering up the first piece of DLC that was released for the game, The Zombie Island Of Dr. Ned, for half off as the Deal Of The Week. The DLC usually retails for 800 Microsoft points ($10 US), but is on sale for 400 Points ($5 US) this week for Xbox Live Gold Members.
The Zombie Island Of Dr. Ned adds more game levels, new enemies, and new weapons to this already great game! Oh yeah, it also adds zombies! If you liked this game, this is a great way to get a bit more time with all of its cell-shaded glory, and for just a pittance. So check it out!
PS – Along with the announcement of this discount, Gearbox Software has dropped a free downloadable zip file on us that is filled with 16 official Claptrap clips for you to use a ringtones and the like. Check me out, I’m Dancin’! I’m Dancin’!

Hey gang, Daniel here closing out this week’s epic Member BattleCries with a rather thought-provoking topic for the weekend. Now, we’re gonna go off the rails a bit here and actually NOT talk about this week’s topic (which was “favorite exclusive franchises“). After all, we’ve already covered God of War, Mass Effect, Halo, and Mario/Zelda/Metroid so far this week. Sure, there are plenty more, but the BattleCry I selected today comes from Axe Head NoFunAtAll and is offers up something I’d really like to get your all’s take on. It’s about the PSN Trophy system and demoralizing gamers who simply don’t want certain bits of DLC. If you’ve ever had the sense of accomplishment that comes from beating a game, then you ought to check out today’s MBC and use the comment section below to join the discussion! Let’s get started after the jump.

Ever wanted to know what a general from the future tweets about? Now you can! General Knoxx, the title character in the latest Borderlands DLC The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is apparently tweeting through time in order to share his marvelous tweetergrams with us.
The twitter page introduces Knoxx as “general alphonso knoxx, first general of the crimson lance, son of guillermo delphino knoxx III” (there are no capitals in the future btw) and already has what seems to be leaked concept art and an in game screenshots courtesy of the camera on Knoxx’s cellular ear ringer. He even goes so far as to chirp some people who reply to his tweets, which to be honest is pretty funny stuff.
I don’t know about you guys but I’m sure as hell going to follow him. Not only will the page hopefully supply some information about the mysterious DLC, but I’ve always wanted to taunt a futuristic general. You guys going to follow General Knoxx? Let us know below.

A post on the official Gearbox community blog officially reveals the next bit of DLC for the rather popular Borderlands. Titled “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx”, the content is being billed as “the largest DLC for Borderlands to date”, and will be coming to the 360, PS3, and PC although we’ve got no official word on a release date just yet.
The description of the content pitches the ability to “face off with brutal, never-before-seen enemies in a huge new environment complete with tons of brand new missions” while gaining access to entirely new weapons and items. Sweet. The content also allows for character growth to level 50 while offering “hours” of additional playtime for those who love both shooting and looting.
Of course, we’ll keep you posted on more details as they emerge. So, any Borderlands fans in the house?
