Rumors about a new Nintendo DSi featuring a larger screen have been circulating around the net for a little while now, which is why isn’t wasn’t too much of a shock when the Big N updated its official Japanese website this morning to confirm the existence of what is being called the DSi LL.

The new hardware, which will go on sale in Japan come November 21 for 20,000 yen, will be available in three colors; Natural White, Dark Brown, and Wine Red. In terms of specs, the new system will feature a larger 4.2 inch screen, a full size stylus, and extended battery life ranging from 13 to 17 hours on the system’s lowest energy settings.

The Nintendo DSi LL has only been announced for Japan at the moment, but we’d expect the new unit to be made available worldwide. We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.
