Wayforward Technologies will be releasing a flashy remake this summer on XBLA and PSN, in the form of Double Dragon Neon. This premise is the same Marian is carried off after taking one to the kidneys and it’s up to Billy and Jimmy to save her.

The new aspect, is the flashy neon Miami Vice-esque visuals that is just oozing pastel perfection. Another interesting aspect is what the final boss will be, having a name like Skullmageddon has me pondering a deliciously over the top final battle.

The only question I have is, “What about Abobo?”

Check the short gameplay trailer below

Demiurge Studios‘s first orignal IP Shoot Many Robots will be released on March 13th on PSN and March 14th for XBLA. The title is pretty self explanatory for this side scrolling shoot ‘em up. You can pick it up this March for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points.

It will offer 4 Player Online Co-op and some very unique customization. From attribute, or special-ability-enabling tutus and viking helmets, to bigger and better guns, there seems to be a ton of variety to fiddle with. If this is the first you’ve heard about the title here’s a link to the Shoot Many Robots page on Gametrailers to get you caught up.

Sony has announced that by the 7th of February, they will turn Playstation Network into Sony Entertainment Network. What does that mean for PlayStation gamers? Read on.

Sony has announced that by the 7th of February, they will turn Playstation Network into Sony Entertainment Network.
This will go along side their new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Here is the why:

“This transition is based on Sony’s goal to enhance its unique digital entertainment offering. As a series of these activities Sony started last September, PlayStation Network will be aligned with “Sony Entertainment Network.” This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.”

All fun and good, but wasn’t Sony in a pickle with their Privacy Policy? And now they are advancing this new stage of their Privacy Policy? Is it me, or do I smell something burning?

Anyways, this name change at least gives us a view of what Sony wants for the future. One account, one goal, one target for Anonymous… Ho wait, did I say that last thing out loud?

In the immortal words of Threepio, “Here we go again.” Sony has revealed that 93,000 online accounts have been hacked. That breaks down as 60,000 PSN users and 33,000 SOE users whose accounts have been accessed. Philip Reitinger, VP and Chief Information Security Officer says that no credit card information is “at risk” and Sony has locked the affected accounts pending a password reset request.

Sony was also quick to point out that it appears the source of the compromised login credentials came from outside Sony’s network, unlike the infamous attack earlier this year. If your account was one of those affected, expect to receive an email from Sony directing you to reset your password. We’ll get more news on this as it develops.

Is this evidence that Sony still hasn’t got things under control or does the fact that no credit card information was compromised prove that Sony has improved security in the wake of this new intrusion? Let us know what you think in the comments.

PS3 fans may have heard that SCEA recently announced “Only On PlayStation Network,” a new program featuring a steady stream of exclusive games releasing throughout the month of October which kicked off yesterday. Details inside!

PS3 fans may have heard that Sony Computer Entertainment America recently announced “Only On PlayStation Network,” a new program featuring a steady stream of exclusive games releasing throughout the month of October. Well, beginning yesterday, the PlayStation Network community in North America will find new exclusive downloadable games in the PlayStation Store every Tuesday in October, including highly-anticipated Pub Fund titles Eufloria and Okabu, as well as inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk Sidescroller. As an added bonus, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a 20% discount during the launch week of each “Only On PlayStation Network” game.

To celebrate, users are eligible to receive $10 in store credit in November if they spend $60 or more out of their PlayStation Network/SEN Wallet throughout the month of October. Spending includes purchases of new games featured in “Only On PlayStation Network,” anything in the content library of the PlayStation Store, paid PlayStation Plus and Music Unlimited subscriptions, video rentals or purchases from Video Unlimited as well as anything bought in PlayStation Home.

“‘Only On PlayStation Network’ is our line of great exclusive games that users can count on to deliver exciting game experiences that can’t be found anywhere else,” said Susan Panico, senior director of PlayStation Network, SCEA. “This strong initial content offering, combined with the day one discounts for PlayStation Plus subscribers and the ‘Spend $60, Get $10 Back’ promotion, makes PlayStation Network the premier destination for digital content.”
