Worry not, gentle knights of the PS3, Castle Crashers will officially grace your kingdom August 31 for the plebian price of $15.

The game will hit PSN almost exactly two years after its release and immense success on XBLA, and after one and a half years of development for the console, according to The Behemoth blog’s announcement.

If you’re a fan of Castle Crashers, The Behemoth is also working on it’s third quirky, side-scroller title, BattleBlock Theatre, which they’re billing as “a story about friendship, betrayal, and a whole truck load of cats.” Check out the trailer straight from the developer blog!

Will you PS3 owners give three cheers to Castle Crashers when it’s finally released over PSN? How does BattleBlock Theatre look to carry The Behemoth torch? Leave us your thoughts in the comments!

A post on The Behemoth (Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid) official blog has revealed BattleBlock Theatre, previously known only as “Game 3″, for Xbox Live Arcade. The game, which doesn’t have an official release date, is described below:

Having shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems.

BattleBlock Theater is our upcoming third title for the Xbox Live Arcade. Website to follow in the next few days and as we inch closer to the release of the title we’ll be unfolding more of the story online.

Nice. Words are only so good of course, which is why we’ve posted the debut trailer below as well. We’ll keep you posted on any new details as they emerge.

As the world rallies to offer help to Haiti, Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid developer The Behemoth is looking to do its part. A post on the official Behemoth blog was made a few days ago announcing that all revenue gained through the purchase of either Castle Crashers or Alien Hominid HD on XBLA between now and the end of this weekend (ending sometime Sunday, January 24) will be donated to the relief effort in Haiti. In fact, The Behemoth employees will be DOUBLING the proceeds in an effort to “help each other to a double helping of help for those who need help! Isn’t that helpful!”

Yes, it is and obviously it’s great to see folks like The Behemoth, Bungie, and others stepping up to do some good. Hopefully the gamers of the world have been and will continue to be motivated to do some good as well.

So, if you haven’t yet experienced Castle Crashers or Alien Hominid HD, now is a great time to do so.
